Some people get carried away with their success.

The allure of fame can be intoxicating, leading some people to become obsessed with their own celebrity status. As they bask in the limelight, their egos may grow, and their behaviour may become more self-centred. However, this shift in attitude may have a negative impact on their relationships, careers, and overall well-being. Individuals should remain grounded and humble, regardless of how much fame they achieve.

Some people believe that the entire world revolves around them and that gossip magazine reporters are always waiting to report on them, but this is rarely the case unless you are an A-list celebrity. That was essentially what the friends of the original poster of this story were doing. They believed they were far more important than they actually were and wanted their friend to know it.

People can let the fame get to their heads.

OP has two friends in the entertainment industry who have worked as extras on a few TV shows.

They don’t have a huge following on social media, either.

The issue started when OP posted a picture of him with his friends, where everyone had arms around each other.

The friends asked him to take the picture down because they didn’t want to end up in gossip rags for dating each other.

Via Reddit

The OP told them that they are not famous enough for anyone to really care about them.

The OP is clear that he doesn’t even want to be their friend anymore, but he ended up on Reddit asking for a second opinion.

I honestly don’t know what their thought process was. Don’t get me wrong: I understand that celebrities face a lot of criticism for dating, and fans enjoy inserting themselves into their favourite celebrities’ lives. However, from the sounds of it, these people are largely unknown, so I’m not sure where their sense of self-importance comes from. However, I believe the OP should have removed the picture. After all, the reason may seem ridiculous to us, but they are still entitled to privacy. So, in my opinion, no one comes out of this story smelling like roses.

People had varying opinions on the whole issue.

It does sound like the friends have quite the ego.

I would also have to agree that the OP should have taken down the picture.

It would be easier to remove the pictures anyway.

Honestly, it just seems like drama for drama’s sake.

I have watched every episode of Friends, and there is actually no storyline there.

Why does OP need to keep it up anyway?

Whether they are famous or not, it doesn’t really matter.

I wouldn’t say that OP is an a**hole either.

Censoring their face with an emoji would be appropriate.

I have to agree with this person 100%.

It is true that it is a group picture and not just of them.

Nobody is 100% correct in this particular story.
