I never thought I would say that about any insect ever and yet here we are. And even though I am afraid of most creepy crawlies, I can admit that some of these praying mantises look like they are ripped straight from someone’s fantastical creature art. And don’t worry, you won’t get the shivers looking at these because some of them look adorable.
I can’t say I have ever looked at a praying mantis because they don’t exist where I live. But even if they did exist in this country, I would not go up to them and stick a camera in their face. However, that is exactly what people did and zoomed in to see how they really look like. And let us just say we are in for a surprise.
Just scroll below to find out for yourself.
#1 Yes, this really is a rainbow-coloured praying mantis.
#2 Honestly I would have never believed this existed in real life if I didn’t know beforehand.
#3 They honestly look like something out of a fantasy movie.
#4 This particular praying mantis is apparently posing for the camera and my heart can’t take it.
#5 You have to look closely to even see that there is an insect there.
#6 Those honestly look like two horns on this praying mantis and I am here for it.
#7 If you don’t think they can fly, this one might try.
Honestly, praying mantises are really great at hiding in their surroundings. They shed their skin every few weeks and take on the colors that perfectly match where they live so they can’t be found easily. Not only that, but many people keep them as pets as well which I didn’t know before…but now I do. Would you ever keep it in your house?
#8 Okay, this one looks adorable with the pink eyes.
#9 That is a beautiful and rich purple color that I love.
#10 Yes, there are actually two praying mantises in this picture.
#11 The big one looks surprised that the little one wants to climb onto him.
#12 This could easily be a lava themed pokemon and I wouldn’t bat an eye.
#13 This one is trying its best to camouflage on the flower.
#14 This praying mantis looks like a sea creature.
#15 Okay, I am not sure how I feel about this one but then again, I get creeped out really easily.
