Employee Leaves Their Job Of 10 Years After Getting Sided For Promotion In Favor Of A Person They Trained

Many employees never receive a promotion.

Despite their hard work and dedication, many employees remain in the same position for years without receiving the recognition or promotion they deserve. This lack of upward mobility can lead to frustration, disengagement, and, ultimately, burnout at work. This is why leaving can be the best way to get a promotion.

When it comes to moving up the corporate ladder, sometimes the best strategy is to take a step back. Leaving your current job for a new opportunity can often result in more professional growth and advancement. Exploring new roles and industries can provide you with valuable experience and skills, making you a more appealing candidate for future promotions. We, as employees, should not be afraid to ask for what we deserve, nor should we be afraid to leave because a better opportunity could be just around the corner for you.

Leaving a job is no easy task.

Making sure everyone knows you are a hard-working employee can be quite difficult, and a lot of the time you don’t get recognised for your effort.

OP was repeatedly told that he was a great employee and the management loved him, but that was about it.

This was when a supervisory position opened up, which OP applied for.

While the OP did not get accepted, they were fine with it since a person with more experience had been made the supervisor instead.

However, it was a different story when another supervisory position opened up and the OP wasn’t even given an interview.

The person who was made the supervisor was the same person OP had trained, and now he was supposed to be OP’s boss.

Not only that, but OP also went through the grapevine that he would never get promoted, which rubbed OP the wrong way.

This is when OP decided to quit and found a better job with much better benefits as well.

The OP leaves us with good advice that we all need to heed if we want to succeed.

While I’m glad the OP got what he deserved, I must point out that this does not apply to everyone. Sometimes you find yourself in a difficult situation and unable to find another job. With the economy as it is, I’m sure we can all relate to the feeling of being stuck and unable to get out of it. However, it is always a good idea to look into your options, as you may discover a better opportunity.

Unfortunately, this type of situation occurs frequently in businesses. Many higher-ups will simply ignore you if you aren’t firm and don’t demand what you deserve. However, I am curious about what the company expected to happen. Did they think OP wouldn’t mind the treatment he was receiving?

Sadly, this is true in many cases.

A lot of companies have no foresight at all.

I would have loved to hear the drama side of things.

I am curious as to why they didn’t want to promote OP.

This might be the answer I am looking for.

As someone who has done something similar, it is quite freeing.

Quitting in the moment is such a powerful feeling.

Better late than never, right?

I would love to see their reactions.

This might be the case.

What are your thoughts about this? Has anything similar happened to you? If so, did you do the same as the OP and quit your job without notice? Or did you discuss it with the higher-ups? How did this make you feel?
