Power can be a potent drug, instilling those who wield it with a sense of control and authority. However, in some cases, this power can get to a manager’s head, leading to questionable decisions and ab*sing their authority. This phenomenon of managers becoming drunk on power can have negative consequences for both the individual and those they lead. This can ultimately lead to a toxic work environment and decreased productivity.
Just because someone is in a higher position does not imply they know more than everyone else. It also does not imply that they can impose any new rules they want. We’ve seen higher-ups treat their employees like tools time and again, and it never works out well for them. The following story is no different. The manager believed he could dock everyone’s pay for being a few minutes late, but it clearly backfired. It’s funny how higher-ups will quickly dock your pay for being a few minutes late but never reward you for arriving early.

Fortunately, the employees banded together and refused to accept the manager’s unfair punishment. Finally, the manager had to backtrack and apologise for his actions. Well, I say apologised, but it was more that they had to bow down because someone superior to them called him out. He definitely deserved much worse, and he got his revenge by firing OP, but I believe OP did a good thing for his coworkers as well. If he hadn’t stood up, the entire staff would have been in a bad situation.
