Entitled Teenager Asks If He’s Wrong For Playing Drums At 4AM Because Neighbors Complained About It

neighbor-noise-fi

Are electronic drums noisy? They’re definitely not as loud as acoustic drums, but they can still be heard through walls. If you can hear sounds from your neighbor’s place, they can probably hear your electronic drum beats too, even if it’s just a tapping noise.

In a post on the “Am I The A**hole?” subreddit, a 19-year-old asked if he was wrong for playing his electronic drums at 4 am in the morning. His neighbor complained about the noise and threatened to call the police if it continued. OP mentioned that the neighbor, who had COVID, shouldn’t have come into his home to yell at him. He insisted his drums were quiet and shouldn’t have disturbed her.

1. Let’s find out!

2. OP shared that he had been playing drums for 6 years and never heard a complaint about being loud until now.

3. One time, OP was playing his electric drums at 4 am which made a neighbor wake up, who entered his garage to confront him and threaten to call the police.

4. OP believed that it shouldn’t have been an issue for anyone with him playing electronic drums at 4 in the morning as they are virtual. Instead, he argued why the neighbor trespassed on his property without permission…who at the time also had COVID.

5. OP stood firm on the ground that the woman with COVID entering his house endangered his life.

6. OP also mentioned electronic drums are virtually quiet, so he didn’t understand how the neighbor heard him play.

7. According to OP, the “noise” is quiet enough to not bother anyone who is sleeping at 4 in the morning.

Did you guys notice how smoothly OP changed the direction of the story from him being wrongfully noisy at 4 in the morning to the neighbor trespassing onto his property and having COVID? Smooth, but it won’t work. Making any kind of noise at 4 am is unacceptable, it is really not that hard to understand.

OP needs to apologize and the neighbor should’ve called the police. This is unacceptable behavior! YTA!

20. The only way this situation can be closed is by OP apologizing to the neighbor he disturbed.
