Dogs are not just pets. When you let a little fur baby into your life, you are adding another member to your family. You would love them just like you would love your own child. You’ll care for them as one of your own and your dog will always be your best friend. You can never feel lonely with them around. Your dog becomes a huge part of your life as you experience unconditional love from their side. You would do anything for them. And if they are in danger, you would not even think twice before risking your own life to save them.
A man in California punched a 350lb bear right in his face to save the life of his 90lb pit bull. Even though it meant endangering his own life trying to tackle a bear much bigger than him, he still fought for his best friend. Read the whole story down below:

Kaleb Benham is a resident of Grass Valley, Nevada County and he was at his home one day before Thanksgiving when he heard Buddy growling from where he was playing.
When Kaleb rushed outside, from about 75 to 100ft (22.86 to30.48m) away, he saw Buddy being dragged by the head in the jaws of a huge 350lbs black bear. Kaleb didn’t even think twice before running to Buddy’s help.

Kaleb sprinted towards the bear, grabbed it by the throat and delivered a direct blow to his face. He repeatedly punched the bear’s face and eyes till he loosened his grip on Buddy and let him go. After getting ahold of Buddy, Kaleb rushed him to the nearest vet he could find. Buddy was extremely injured and had critical cuts around his eyes and bite marks on his head from where he was being dragged.
On his hunt to find a vet, Kaleb finally came across Mother Lode Veterinary Hospital where they immediately took in Buddy for emergency surgery.

Buddy had to get his ears stapled, got stitches on his head, and had tubes to drain fluid.
“I just stood there and watched through the window for three and a half hours,” said Kaleb.

However, the bear keeps coming back to the place where it first attacked buddy. “It made an attack and had its food and its food is taken from it and it wants it back, I feel like.” Kaleb talked about how he didn’t know how to handle the bear, but he made the right decision by saving his best friend’s life.
Kaleb’s sister, Katelyn, raised a Go Fund Me for Buddy as his vet bills were huge. They have raised $2,278 for him so far.
Kaleb is a hero and he deserves to be appreciated for his bravery. Share your thoughts about this in the comments below and show some love!
