The surgery date coincided with her best friend’s wedding, where she was supposed to be the maid of honor. Despite their long history and bond, she chose to stay by her dog’s side, leaving her friend hurt and angry.

Don’t you guys think OP is being kind of ridiculous here? Like, we don’t know yet where she will go—the wedding or the surgery, but hear me out. I don’t think what she said about the “only available date” for surgery is correct. Unless all the vet doctors on planet Earth have migrated to some other planet and the one OP is taking Max is the only resource available—this is BS. She could’ve easily explored more options and booked a different date.
I am going to throw this out there; OP was not interested in Sarah’s wedding.
