Boss Tells Employee That He Can Give Whatever They Want After They Give Their Resignation

You never truly appreciate something until it’s gone. It’s human nature to take things for granted, assuming they’ll always be there. But as time passes, we realize that nothing stays the same.

Similarly, employers may not fully recognize your worth until you’re no longer on their team. Only when you’re gone do they realize your true value. They may never admit it, but they’ll feel your absence.

In today’s story, we have Reddit user u/lordoftheeyes2020 sharing the way his new, incompetent boss, always exploring illegal options to conduct business, risked his reputation and career. After being berated for being a terrible employee, which OP knew he wasn’t, and not being paid enough for the efforts he was putting in, OP finally decided to give in his notice.

The boss knew how important OP was to the business but never said it to his face. When OP told him he was quitting, sh*t went upside down, his fingers went numb as he had no idea how the company was going to survive without OP.

1. After the notice? That made me laugh.

2. OP worked for a store that required one of the people working to have a license and certain credentials to perform the required tasks. OP was that guy.

3. Without taking OP into consideration, the existing owners sold the store to someone else who didn’t have to particular credentials. So it was all working on OP’s license.

4. The new owner was a terrible person who would always try to explore illegal routes for conducting business. OP would always advise against it.

5. He would always brag about his 40 years of experience and would constantly make life h*ll for OP at work.

6. OP finally decided to give his notice, which made the boss collapse. He started making offers like a headless chicken.

7. But those offers still didn’t make sense, as in the same conversation, he would call OP a bad employee.

This boss really has no bran in his skull. He knows very clearly OP is the only person at the store who has the license required to keep the store operational. And he is trying his best to make life h*ll for him, forcing him to leave on a choice basis. He doesn’t realize that not only OP will leave, but his license will too.

And I would suggest OP leave as soon as possible because this guy will continue to engage in illegal activities and may shift all the burden on OP because he is the one who has the license. Be careful, OP!

8. Now that OP is leaving, the boss is in a terrible spot. He has no one to fill in for OP.

9. He told OP to extend his notice as he was unable to find a replacement in such a short time.

10. But OP didn’t have any of it.
