Anyone who has ever been on a cruise knows that cruise ships wait for no one. In fact, all public transportation sticks to a strict schedule. If you’re not there on time, they’ll leave without you, and you’ll need to find another way to your destination.
This was a hard lesson for the parents in the story we have got for you guys today. It’s surprising that adults don’t already know this. What’s even more shocking is that these parents expected their daughter to either delay the ship or stay behind with them, despite her arriving on time. Fortunately, she did neither. She let her parents learn the hard way and figure out how to catch up with the ship on their own, much to their dismay.
2. When OP got gifted a cruise ride by her parents upon graduating, she explicitly told them to not be late as cruises are very strict about their leaving times.
3. And it happened, despite OP constantly telling her parents to get to the ship, they were too busy shopping and told her to go as they would catch on.
4. But they missed the departure and blammed OP for not making the “boat” wait for them.
5. The parents had to fly to the next port to catch on with OP, and they were not happy about it.
6. OP felt she was blamed for no reason as she had already informed her parents about the strict time schedule of the cruise.
It is 3,998 people on one side and 2 on the other. Did they really think the ship would’ve waited for them? Who do they think they are? President and The First Lady? It still would’ve been unethical to make the whole ship wait for them.
Entitlement gets you nowhere. They should feel lucky they didn’t have to pay for more plane rides. I hope a lesson was learned.
