Redditor Used A Cat Squirt Bottle On His Nephew To Wake Him Up, Asks If She Did Anything Wrong

As a cat owner, you know they sometimes misbehave. Many people use a squirt bottle to stop such behaviors. While common, this method isn’t always the best way to train a cat.

In today’s story, a Redditor found a different use for his cat’s squirt bottle. He shared that being the legal guardian of his 15-year-old nephew, he had to look after him like his dad or mom would do. However, OP faced some issues with the parenting process. Every morning was a struggle to wake him up until the squirt bottle came to the rescue.

Scroll down below to read how it all worked out for OP.

1. Let’s find out!

2. OP’s 15-year-old nephew has a problem of waking up very late no matter how hard he tried to wake him up. Even his cat fails to do the job.

3. This was a habit induced into Michael by his mother who would often let him sleep late and then rush him to school at noon by making some excuse for late arrival.

4. One day OP had to get to work urgently so he used his cat’s squirt bottle to squirt water on Michael until he woke up.

5. And it worked. OP continued on with this practice and in no time Michael would now wake up on time and go to the bathroom by himself.

If it works, you can’t be called an AH for it. He literally turned the big bad habit of Michael into a good one. He now wakes up on time, goes to the bathroom on time, and reaches school on time which results in OP reaching work on time. This is all thanks to the cat squirt bottle.

The kid got taught manners his parents taught him. Who cares about what the source was. I side with OP. And fhe best part is that Michael has no problem with it.

6. When OP and Michael were at his cousin’s house for a visit, she found out about OP’s method of waking Michael up and called it demeaning to the teen.

7. OP didn’t find any issues with it as it did the job perfectly. The matter was taken to the courts of the AITA community.
