Companies do not always respect their employees.

In today’s competitive business world, many companies prioritise profits over employee well-being. This can lead to a lack of respect for those who work hard to ensure the company’s success. Employees frequently face challenges in environments where their well-being is not prioritised, including long hours and low wages, as well as a lack of support and recognition. Employees are now considered expendable by many businesses, so they are rarely viewed as an investment.

Employers believe they can treat their employees however they want, and the employees will never leave them. However, this mindset is shifting as more employees prioritise their own well-being and seek out employers who value them. Companies that do not recognise the value of their employees risk losing valuable talent to competitors who provide a more supportive and respectful working environment. That is precisely what happened in this story as well. That is why I always say that you never truly appreciate what you have until you lose it.

Valuing an employee is extremely necessary.

If you appreciate your employees and give them consideration, they won’t leave your company.

OP worked hard for this company and made his manager a significant amount of money, but all he got back was a cheap gift card.

OP genuinely liked his job, so he trained someone before putting in his resignation letter.

OP also let his manager know that he already had another position lined up, and the manager blew his top.

The higher-ups got legal and HR involved to try to intimidate OP so that he would not accept the new job position.

The story didn’t end there either, as the company kept calling him, trying to intimidate him, which obviously didn’t work out for them.

When that didn’t work, they tried another tactic and called the new company he worked at, but the CEO put the company in their place.

The old company just wanted OP to quit his job, but that didn’t work out for them, and now we also know which company it actually is.

It has been three years since OP quit that job, and he is still working with the same company even to this day.

OP also answered a few burning questions, and the first one was, Why did he stay when he wasn’t getting a raise?

The simple reason is that he was fresh out of college and didn’t know any better.

OP also didn’t work out instantly because he didn’t want to put his co-workers in a difficult position.

I thought that HR was supposed to be on the employee’s side. However, in this case, they were simply bullying OP into quitting his new job. I’m also glad OP found a better place to work because the company actually looked out for him. It was a toxic workplace, and he deserved better. I’m also surprised at how his previous boss treated him. Did he really believe a small gift card would suffice for how much OP had made him? This just goes to show how many employers take advantage of their employees.

It would have been funny if they also lost a lot of money along the way.

Didn’t he already name them, though, or am I missing something?

The company was just trying to intimidate him.

It is a good idea to keep that a secret.

They didn’t have the upper hand, legally speaking.

It is definitely illegal in most countries.

Choose who you trust carefully.
