Society still strongly expects women to have children, and these pressures often grow with age. Many women find it uncomfortable and intrusive to face questions like, “When are you going to have a baby?”
Recently, Reddit user Minimum_Reaction_724 shared her experience of dealing with such questions from a male colleague at a work seminar. Initially, she tried to brush off his inquiries, but he persisted, finally making her reach her saturation point. What happened next is for you guys to read and find out.
1. If it was a response and served the purpose, then I don’t mind.
2. OP attended a work seminar where this happened.
3. While having dinner with her colleagues, OP mentioned how she had a hobby room in her house and a bedroom, to which one person objected that she should have made it a “kids” room.
4. OP is child-free so this comment kind of felt bad; however, she ignored the guy and he didn’t like that either.
5. As OP was about to leave, the guy screamed that OP should consider having kids and that her life would serve no purpose until she became a mother.
6. OP decided to throw a curve ball by lying to him loudly that she was infertile. The women around OP began hugging her, paying their condolences.
7. OP added a few lines to give some base to the narrative and enjoyed watching the embarrassed colleague turn red.
8. The guy took a sick leave and didn’t show up after that.
This is pathetic behavior. I mean, what business did that guy have making that comment? Who cares if OP wants to have a child or not, she owns her life and seems to be very well in control of deciding what is best for her.
Yes, lying is not encouraged, but it did the job, and now the guy is scared to even return to work.
