Crazy Roommate

Living with a roommate is not easy.

Living with a flatmate can be a difficult experience because it requires sharing living space, responsibilities, and personal boundaries. Whether you’re living with a friend, a stranger, or your significant other, navigating the dynamics of cohabitation can be both rewarding and frustrating. Communication, compromise, and respect are critical components of living successfully with a flatmate. Even if you have a good rapport with each other, it can all be lost in a single instance.

While disagreements are normal when living with someone else, if they are not addressed, they can escalate and harm everyone in the long run. Setting clear expectations and boundaries from the beginning can help to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts. To ensure a healthy living environment for all parties involved, issues must be addressed in a respectful and constructive manner as they arise. However, no matter how hard you try, you may still be unable to resolve the issue. That is basically the case with the original premise of this story.

You can see for yourself by scrolling below, and you should grab some popcorn because things are not as they appear.

Locking the door is a reasonable thing to ask from your roommate.

OP has lived with Lily for quite a while, but recently she forgot to lock the door when she went out.

Lily was not at all happy with this and got really angry at the OP for forgetting to lock the door.

OP doesn’t think it is that big of a deal, but she decided to ask Reddit if she was indeed in the wrong.

OP also added that she has no problem locking the door, but usually Lily is the one who hates having the door locked constantly.

OP also explained in detail what had happened and that Lily was there when OP left the house.

You would think that everything would end there, but things only escalated further.

As an aside, the door is actually the back door as the front door is barred by some furniture.

The story is only getting started, as there is more going on behind the scenes that we didn’t know.

As it turns out, the matter was not about the locks at all but about something entirely different.

Lily has even gone as far as to go to OP’s room and trash her stuff, which is clearly against the law.

She finally got the truth out of Lily’s boyfriend, who didn’t know it was going to go this far.

Lily apparently wanted her boyfriend to move in with them, and she was going to ask OP about it.

However, she quickly changed her mind when one of her friends said that OP was apparently more attractive than Lily, and this made her jealous.

She was afraid that her boyfriend would get with OP and thus hatched a plan so that OP would leave.

Lily’s boyfriend knew that something was going to happen but wasn’t aware it was going to be this extreme.

Things were much more complicated than they first seemed, and apparently Lily has been off her medications for a while.

OP tried to get the issue out with Lily, but she isn’t having any of it and has resorted to insults.

Lily is utterly convinced that her boyfriend is cheating on her, or, I should say, her ex-boyfriend.

The boyfriend is gobsmacked by this whole situation and has said that he would never hurt her in any way.

She has even thr**tened her ex-boyfriend with false accusations.

Lily’s boyfriend is now going to hang out with his friends.

OP also has friends with her in her house, so she can remain safe.

This did not go as expected. I assumed it was just the flatmate being overly concerned with covering a simple lock, but things were far more complicated than that. While I am not a psychologist, I can at least say that the housemate requires assistance. Her jealousy and subsequent behaviour do not reflect a healthy mind. What surprises me is that no one saw this coming, and she had never done anything like it before. I hope OP is safe because it appears that the flatmate can do anything at this point.

It is certainly a wild story.

Involving the law might be a good idea at this point.

Her behaviour is indeed very unhinged.

The guy will be in big trouble.

She needs help, but not at the expense of other people’s lives.
