Have you ever thought of keeping a puma cat as a house cat?

We are sure that like many other people, you must have thought about it too because that’s “too cool” to have a massive and dangerous cat, right? But is it really safe to own a puma as a pet? The answer is, of course not! We simply cannot deny the fact that a person takes a huge risk when he/she decides to keep an exotic animal in the house. However, if you have decided to keep puma as a pet, you must be very cautious and careful at all times. If you understand the pet well and you are being careful with it, you can avoid running into problems.

We came across a story of a couple Aleksandr and Mariya Dmitriev, who rescued a puma cat back in 2016 and kept it inside their apartment in Russia. They named the Puma cat after the famous footballer, Messi and it appears like Messi (puma) is truly living his dream life with all the comforts! We came to know that Messi was sold to a petting zoo in Penza when he was only 3 months old and had health issues as well. The poor cat couldn’t live in a zoo or a wildlife sanctuary, hence, the petting zoo staff decided to euthanize the wild cat but God had planned something else for Messi. He sent Aleksandr and Mariya as the guardian angels who rescued the poor cat and took him home.

Here’s a picture of the beautiful Puma AKA Messi, chilling in his owner’s lap!

Cats being cats.

It’s Messi’s bath time!

Messi loves giving cuddles to his owner!

Messi in the blanky, chillin!

How happy he is…awww!

He loves playing with his favorite toys!

“Hey, hooman. Is it my bath time yet?”

Lazy Sunday’s be like:

“Who me? Why would I do that?”

As soon as Messi became famous and viral all over the internet, people couldn’t help but admire how Dmitrievs took care of this big cat. But they had to face criticism as well because eventually, this exotic cat poses risks too. Many people tried to convince the couple to send him to a wildlife sanctuary but the couple insisted that Messi isn’t capable of surviving in the wild. Not like the couple tried to encourage that people should get exotic animals and keep them inside their homes but when it comes to Messi, he’s an exception because he is gentle and calm. Also, not to forget, he had health issues as well.

“What are we having, hooman?”

Awww… this is such an adorable picture!

Peek-a-boo!

I’d shat myself if I ever see him sitting like that.

Did you know that Pumas have other names too. They are also known as mountain lions, red tigers and cougars. However, the couple thinks that this Puma needs a buddy too and they are thinking to adopt a leopard as well. Yep, that’s right. A LEOPARD TOO.

We don’t think it’s such a good idea to keep exotic animals inside a house because the risks involved just can’t be denied. We just hope that they don’t have to learn it the hard way and things keep on going smooth for the couple.
