Life is not about having everything figured out. In fact, it’s about finding your sweet spot and making peace with the consequences. you cannot have everything served to you on a decorated plate up to your convenience. Sometimes you have to deal with whatever’s being served and be happy about it. As nothing in life is for free, even the items that don’t cost anything in terms of money you still have to pay for them with your time and energy. It’s not like you want to visit a sick friend and you sit on the couch in your home and pray that somehow you just magically get transported to his/her home. No, that’s not how things work. You would have to get out of your house, walk or take a bus or maybe drive to your friend’s place. You would have to step out of your comfort zone to make it happen.
However, some people want to make no effort and want everything to happen according to them. They would have no shame in making everything always about themselves. They want everything up to their own convenience and have no regard for others situation. These kind of people are not willing to struggle and sacrifice their comfort at any cost. We came across an interesting Reddit post about a woman who went full Karen on an 8-month pregnant lady who was giving out free seashells. This Reddit is a great example of a self-centred person who clearly wants the world to move according to her convenience. Scroll down to read the whole thing.

Even for the things that don’t cost you anything financially, you have to struggle. It’s not like things will walk themselves up to you, you would have to struggle in order to get them. When someone is kind enough to give out something for free, you should at least try to make things convenient for them. As they are not asking you for your money, but you can at least thank them by agreeing to their delivery methods. The woman with the seashells has clearly stated that she’s 8 months pregnant and can’t meet you halfway. Well, she has a genuine reason for not leaving her home. After all, it’s a COVID-19 outbreak. It could be dangerous for the woman and her baby. There’s no point in arguing about it. It’s all pretty simple. If you need the seashells so badly, you can also get them for free at the beach. It just needs a lot more effort than driving up to the pregnant lady’s house and have them all already picked out in one bag. It would surely be going out of your way as it’s a 40-minute drive, but it’s better than going to the beach and spending 60 minutes or more collecting seashells. If you really, REALLY need those seashells, then a 40- minute drive shouldn’t bother you.

The world needs better mothers who can raise a better generation. The world is already full of Karens, now let’s not try to be one. Let’s just change ourselves for good this time. What do you guys think, how the woman should have responded to the situation instead of going Karen? Let us know in the comments below.
