Single Mother

People celebrate their birthdays in different ways.

Some people enjoy hosting large parties and inviting everyone they know to celebrate their birthdays. Some people are content with nothing more than a cupcake at the end of the day while they relax at home. Many people believe that celebrating their birthday alone is lonely or sad, but it can actually be a great opportunity for self-reflection and self-care. Embracing solitude on your special day allows you to focus on what truly brings you joy and fulfilment, free from the pressures of others’ expectations.

There is no wrong way to celebrate; it simply depends on what you want to do. You are allowed to be sad if you don’t have anyone else, but you must also manage your expectations so that you do not always feel depressed. Remember that it’s okay to treat yourself and engage in activities that make you happy. Take this opportunity to appreciate your own company and make the most of your birthday celebration, even if it is as simple as treating yourself to your favourite things. However, not everyone enjoys alone time, and the person in the video below is one of them.

This all started when a woman posted about making a cake for her birthday.

She was crying in the video because she had to bake the cake for herself.

Via HeidiBriones

She was apparently sad that she was single and that she had to bake her own cake rather than have her partner surprise her.

People in the comments were generally not on her side.

Baking a cake with your children sounds like a fun activity to me.

Feeling lonely or depressed is not something to be ashamed of. We are free to express our feelings. However, setting up a camera and then crying in front of it seems unusual. I’m not saying we shouldn’t share our emotions with the world, but the entire process appears more staged than genuine. Sharing your emotions should be an intimate and authentic experience. So I’m not surprised that so many people came after her and accused her of being a fake.

Also, baking for yourself, even if you have a partner, is not uncommon and is usually what happens. At the end of the day, however, I hope she finds what she’s looking for.

Most married women also have to bake their own cake to be fair.

It does come off as a bit tone-deaf.

Via HeidiBriones

It does not read as well as the creator might have hoped.

Via HeidiBriones

It might take longer, but it is more fun for the kids.

Crying is okay, and so is talking about your mental health, but this is a bit weird.

Via HeidiBriones

That might be it, but what was the reason behind choosing a time to cry so she could do it in front of the camera?

Via HeidiBriones

I hope she can get the help she needs.

Via HeidiBriones

Maybe this was her way of reaching out to people.

Via HeidiBriones

It is more about loneliness than having a partner.

Via HeidiBriones

This person had an understanding of the whole situation.

Via HeidiBriones

Buying a cake is usually what I do as well.

Via HeidiBriones

Does she not have any friends to rely on?

Via HeidiBriones

It must have taken her a long time to do all of that.

Via HeidiBriones

From what I’ve seen, most husbands don’t do that for their wives either.

Via HeidiBriones

Can you imagine the whole process? It seems a bit weird and disingenuous to me.

What are your thoughts about this situation? Do you think she’s being overly dramatic and phoney? Or do you believe she is free to create whatever content she wants?
