After getting fully vaccinated, a family planned a whale-watching trip and headed to the grocery store to prepare. While shopping, the mother, dressed in a blue dress and accompanied by her service dog, was mistaken for an employee by an aggressive customercustomer a.k.a Karen. The misunderstanding escalated when Karen stomped on the dog’s tail, causing injury. The situation intensified as Karen yelled and argued, even as the family and store employees tried to clarify that they were just shoppers.
The family’s daughter stepped in, pretending to be a manager to calm the situation until the real manager and police arrived.

2. OP and her family decided to go Whale Watching. For their stay, they took a day out to do all the grocery shopping.
3. It appears the whole incident has something to do with what OP’s parents were wearing.
4. Pretty normal clothes, if you ask me. A standard family dress-up!
5. In the Market of Walls, the family separated, with OP shopping for required accessories and the parents buying food items.
6. While in the Frozen Food section, doggo suddenly started tugging on Mom to get her attention. When the Mom turned to look at Doggo, she saw a fully evolved Karen standing there.
7. The mother’s blue shirt made the woman mistake her for an employee, and the dad’s grey buttoned shirt for the manager.
8. As OP’s mom clarified she didn’t work there, Karen got pissed and stepped hard on Doggo’s tail to release her aggression.
9. An actual employee got involved to try and resolve things, but Karen kept berating OP’s parents.
10. OP asked the employee to go get the manager and chose to get involved with Karen herself.
11. OP approached Karen, pretending to be the manager.
12. OP kept her confidence high and went right in, which made Karen suddenly realize the blunder she had been making.
13. With Karen now slightly back in her senses, OP brought her attention to what she had done to Doggo.
14. OP successfully managed to intimidate Karen as the manager arrived at the scene along with two police officers.
15. Karen had no chance here. Everything was caught on camera. She had ab*sed Doggo.
Anger can rot a human being in no time, just as it has rotten this Karen. How long would it have taken her to ask if OP’s mom worked there? Barely 10 seconds! And what is even worse is that she stomped on the dog’s tail before even the mother got the chance to respond to her. The mom should’ve just smacked Karen in the face with all her might as soon as she saw her dog in pain. People really do think they can get away with anything…not in the modern world.

When OP confronted Karen, she immediately knew the big mess she had pulled herself in. There was no going back. You could sense her tone changing from aggressive to guilty. I am glad that didn’t melt OP and family as they proceeded with the charges. 6 years in jail, and $6,000 in damages. A beautiful way to teach her that it is not okay to injure other people’s dogs just because you think you can.
