Did you know that kittens are completely blind when they are born? They tend to rely on their mother’s instinct and the mother’s help to feed on her milk. It takes around 7-10 days for a kitten to open their eyes for the first time but their vision would remain poor until they are about 5 weeks old. Isn’t that amazing? Not just that, kittens are also born with blue eyes but only a few breeds like a Siamese get to retain their true eye colours while the rest of them will change pigment during the first year of their life.

Not just that, they also have one of the best hearing capabilities as compared to all the land mammals. Let us put it this way, a human can hear 20,000 hertz meanwhile a cat can hear even at 65,000 hertz! Woah, imagine all the secrets we could gather if only we had that hearing capability.
