OP’s daughter lives with her even though she is 29 since the economy isn’t great.

OP and his husband decided to save the rent she gives them and have been putting that money aside for years.

OP refused, but she did offer to gift him some money, so he stood on his feet again, but this got him angry.

The son tried again, saying that they could build that fund up again since his sister wasn’t going to move out anytime soon, but OP wasn’t having it.

This led OP’s son to accuse her of favouring her daughter more than him.

OP made it clear that she had given him the same option of staying with them after college, but he was the one who had refused.

This has obviously caused a bit of family drama, and the OP isn’t sure whether she did the right thing.

I would feel bad for OP’s son if he had moved out because OP and her husband wanted him to, but that is not the case here. They have offered him the same opportunity to live with them and save money. So he could have chosen the option he preferred. However, he chose to move out, and now he must act like an adult. Not only that, but OP offered to give him some money, so it’s not as if his parents have abandoned him and refused to help him. He and his wife seem entitled to me.

I don’t see any sort of favouritism going on here.

While it is rent money, it is the OP and her husband’s choice what they want to do with it.

To be fair, OP did offer to help him financially.

It is clear that they are being greedy and want the amount that was saved by his parents for his sister.

He will not stop here if the OP gives in to this instance.
