After all, what does it matter if the cat is grey, white, or a deep shade of ginger. At the end of the day, all of the cats are jerks anyway. Jokes aside, cats are great and there is no way one cannot fall in love with them. Many breeds can have an orange coat. Yes, even Persians even though we don’t see it as often as them being totally white. From munchkin to tabbies, many breeds can carry the chromosome necessary to have the red pigment.

There is a reason most ginger cats are male. A nice 80% in fact. The reasoning behind this is that a female carries two chromosomes with red pigment to actually be ginger. While a male ginger cat only needs one. So to be female ginger, the father has to be ginger while the other has to carry the gene. While it is not too complicated for males. And since the ginger gene is quite ‘powerful’, it can basically cover all other pigments thus resulting in a ginger kitty.
