In a recent visit to a popular grocery store, a man found himself mistaken for an employee, leading to a surprising encounter. Dressed in a black polo shirt from his clinic, he was shopping for ingredients for a bake sale when another customer confused him for a staff member. The misunderstanding escalated when the woman, frustrated with not getting her preferred ketchup, threw the bottle at him, injuring his hand.
Despite his calm efforts to help, the situation drew the attention of store employees and the manager. The store’s staff and an elderly witness confirmed his account, while the woman continued to insist he was pretending to work there. The incident ended with the woman being escorted out and banned from the store.
1. It is a tradition for Karens to mistake customers for employees.
2. OP was at a grocery store that day, shopping in his black polos.
3. OP was there to pick up some ingredients for a bake sale at their daughter’s school that his wife had organized, and was going to bake for too.
4. OP had recently incurred an injury on his right hand so he was being careful while lifting heavy items.
5. Just as OP placed the bag of sugar on his cart after kneeling down to grab, a woman grabbed it and walked away.
6. The Karen had now tried approaching OP twice, but the interaction never took place. OP grabbed another bag of sugar and continued with his shopping.
7. The made contact once again in the condiment section as Karen was requesting an old guy, in a very loud voice, to help her grab a bottle of ketchup
8. The old man, who was walking with a stick, was unable to help her due to obvious reasons.
9. OP decided to get involved and told Karen be could grab the ketchup for her, just so she would stop annoying the elderly guy.
10. Karen refused to accept help from OP, and kept demanding the old guy help her, someone she had totally mistaken for an employee.
11. Oh my god, this woman has no braincells.
12. After finally grabbing the ketchup for her, Karen complained she wanted the bigger packing.
13. As OP grabbed the bigger packing, she complained it had the lid on the top while she needed one with the lid on the bottom.
14. The small packing had its lid on the bottom so, now frustrated, OP suggested she take two small ketchups which would be equal in size of the big one.
15. But she didn’t understand any of the math. All she wanted was a big ketchup as per her requirements.
16. Resting his case, OP grabbed his cart to move on Karen threw a bottle of ketchup at him which he deflected using his injured hand, resulting in him getting hurt and the ketchup exploding on impact with the floor.
That’s it! The manager needs to show up and call the police right away. Not only did she have an intent to hit a customer, she did end up hurting OP as the bottle of ketchup hit his sutured hand. Not only that, the bottle went up flying in the air and exploded on the other side of the aisle. What if there was a customer standing there? What if the ketchup had explodrd all over that customer.
Karen exhibited a behavioral trait that we refer to as “psychotic”. This was far beyond entitlement. Let’s see what happens next. Scroll down below to continue reading!
You can’t make this sort of stuff up. Our planet has a major Karen problem that was once an issue restricted to meme templates. Karens come in all genders, and they are ruthless. Imagine the stress the manager would’ve gone through had the impact of the ketchup bottle reopened OP’s wound. Karen should be grateful no one at the store pressee charges. This really is getting so out of hand. The Karen Issue needs to be addressed!
I hope the bake sale went well. The manager has my respect for what she did to contribute to the bake sale, as sn apology to OP. I really hope you guys enjoyed this one. Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
