When a mother took her daughter, Tia, who has a cognitive delay, to their regular salon for a haircut, she never expected the visit to end in distress. During the appointment, the stylist, Alejandro, noticed that Tia had lice and reacted in a way that humiliated her.
Instead of discreetly handling the situation, Alejandro made a loud and exaggerated scene. The mother, deeply upset by how her daughter was treated, decided to report Alejandro to the salon’s CEO. A month later, when she tried to book another appointment, she was informed that Alejandro had been fired due to her complaint and that her family was no longer welcome at the salon.

From what we have read, the decision is not as easy as it seems, but rather technical. Clearly, OP had been taking her daughter to that particular salon for a very long time. The way Alejandro reacted made it seem like Tia had a lot of lice in her hair, which took some time to grow. If Alejandro was their regular stylist, surely he knew about the lice situation. So the reaction seemed kind of over the top.
On the other hand, if there are that many lice in Tia’s hair, OP is an AH for not getting it treated timely. She should’ve taken Tia to a specific salon that catered to lice issues.

At places like hair salons or spas, customer satisfaction is the utmost priority. Any such place unable to satisfy their customers ends up closing sooner or later. Tia and her mother left unsatisfied that day and that was a bad hit to the business. Alejandro must’ve been penalized for this. But going straight to the CEO to have the guy fired seemed like an overreaction like the one Alejandro gave after he saw lice in Tia’s hair. So ultimately, both parties sailed on the same ship!
