You would think cats would like to sleep in comfortable and expensive beds we get them. But in actuality, they much more prefer resting on a hard table or squishing themself in between a window sil. The reason they do this is that they want to feel safe. Your next question may be how would one feel safe falling asleep in such a position? Well, you know how some people like to sleep with their back against the wall? It makes them certain that nothing is ever behind them

Most of the time you can learn a lot about your cat by looking at how she sleeps. If she is exposing her belly, that means she doesn’t feel threatened when beside you. And if your cat has one eye open, that means he is half-conscious and half-asleep ready to spring into action whenever the need arises. And if he sleeps on his side then that means he is in a deep sleep and trusts you not to bother him.
