Woman Decides To Elope When Her Parents Want Her Sister’s Boyfriend To Propose To Her At The Wedding

A wedding is supposed to be a memorable occasion.

Weddings, in my opinion, are far more important than birthdays because they are usually a once-in-a-lifetime event. As a result, you can make it a day all about yourself and create memories. Families, on the other hand, have a habit of mucking everything up. We’ve all heard stories about mothers-in-law showing up in their old wedding gowns or siblings being jealous, and this falls under the latter category. While I understand that there may be some favouritism when discussing children from a parent’s perspective.

You’re not supposed to be so transparent about it, though. This family is completely unconcerned about this and is perfectly content with making her daughter’s wedding all about her sister instead. Proposing at someone else’s wedding can be quite tacky, even if you have discussed it with the couple getting married, but this is going too far. Her family, you see, basically forced their daughter into this situation and didn’t even give her an out.

This story starts out with some background information on how she and her sister were treated all their lives.

Right from the start, her sister always got preferential treatment.

But she tried to move past it until another hurdle presented itself.

She just wanted to have a special day until he parents intervened.

They apparently wanted to use her wedding as an engagement party for the sister as well.

She wasn’t fine with it at all but her parents weren’t allowing her any choice.

She tried to make her feelings clear to them as well but it didn’t work.

Their hearts were set on it and they had paid for the wedding so she couldn’t do anything.

So she went ahead and moved her wedding to an earlier date.

This way she could have a day without interruptions.

The reaction was not nice at all and everyone was angry with her.

But she had a nice day and that is all that matters.

She tried to let her sister know but that didn’t work either.

However, her wedding was truly magical.

Even if her family hated her for it and cut her out of their life permanently.

They even tried to get her to pay them back.

But they went ahead and used the venue as an engagement party so it all worked out for them.

I’m glad she did this because I’m confident they would have gone ahead with the proposal even if she had specifically told them not to. And, while her family is upset with her, it is clear that they are more concerned with her sister than with her. I applaud the sister for beating cancer, but this does not give her the right to act like a brat and believe she is entitled to everything. I hope her extended family realizes where she’s coming from, but even if they don’t, she deserves a good life.

People in the comments were gobsmacked by the change of heart as well.

It is clear that this is what her parents wanted right from the start.

But atleast, she has a new family who cares for her and understands her.

What do you think about this story? Do you believe she should have simply accepted the proposal? Do you think it’s better that she stood her ground? What would you have done if you were in this situation? Have you ever had something similar happen to you?
