Woman Calls Her Co-worker A Man-child For Not Covering Her Shift

Parents don’t have a monopoly on stress.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I realize that parenting can be hard and I would never say that I understand what they go through but that doesn’t mean that they have a monopoly on stress. And just because they have kids doesn’t mean that there should be some special exceptions for them. I mean they chose to have kids so why do they act so exclusionary and hate on childless people and call them out for being selfish.

I am well aware that not every parent is like that but I am just talking about the people who are. Everyone has their own problems and just because you have a kid doesn’t make your issues any bigger or smaller than the other people out there. So calling your co-worker a manchild just because he refused to cover your shift is just horrendous behavior. Just because someone doesn’t have a child doesn’t mean that they have nothing to do in their life and that we all just sit at home with nothing to do.

It starts off with some information about eh job and how Brenda couldn’t come in.

He quickly explained that he had plans and that he couldn’t come in.

The manager tried to put the blame on him and the employee wasn’t having any of it.

But the manager just continued to guilt-trip him into coming on his day off.

The manager clearly thought that this person was in the wrong for simply refusing to come in.

Even Brenda jumped in later to hat eon this person so they decided to quit as soon as they could.

Her issues are not his problem at the end of the day.

I am not even surprised by this sort of behavior anymore. I have seen these things happen so many times that this is the new normal that we live in every day. I understand that this lady might have had an emergency so it is okay to ask your co-worker to cover your shift. However, she shouldn’t have been entitled to think that he could not say no. And I am also surprised by the manager for putting all the blame on their employee. This whole scenario is just weird and I can only hope that this person finds a new and better job.

To be fair, she should have remembered her son’s birthday.

It is not as if the manager was being professional.

People really do think that employees don’t have a life of their own.

It is very insulting and I hope people learn from this.

I am glad that he stood his ground and didn’t let the manager guilt-trip him.

This is why it is better to not look at your phone on days off.

The manager was a completely a**hole as well.

It is the manager’s job to cover shifts.

She clearly isn’t a responsible person.

This is a great statement that everyone needs to live by.

It really is as simple as that.

She should have planned for this.

This is actually a very important question.

It all depends on the schedule.

Exactly! Does he really think a non-parent doesn’t have anything going on?

But she obviously didn’t.

It does seem like the manager messed up.

It is both the manager’s and Brenda’s mistake.

Just ignore everything from work.

Whoever made the mistake, should have owned up to it.
