We walk this earth today with our head held high and the whole world in the palm of our hand in the form of our smartphone. We’re so caught up in our everyday life, constantly competing with one another and trying to prove ourselves. We think we know everything, but do we? There is so much more to what meets the eye when it comes to our mother earth. Humans have progressed in all walks of life. New researches are being conducted every day around the globe on so many different subjects, but in that race of getting to know more about our planet, we often overlook the little things that exist in our whereabouts.
The planet earth and its phenomenon is miraculous! It never fails to surprise us. Sometimes with its wonders, and other times with rare occurrences. Whether it’s a candle flame turning blue in zero gravity or a rainbow-colored fish that looks totally unreal found in the coast of Hawaii, there is so much that we have yet to learn about our planet. We at Defused found 16 photos and videos that will make you realise how less we know about our world. Scroll down and enjoy.

Some 5-pointed starfish can be square due to birth defects.
When we think of a Starfish, the first thing to cross our mind is a star that’s actually a fish. Well, that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be as the name implies but this is so rare. In the picture that appears to be a cookie is actually a Starfish. Sometimes due to birth defects Starfish are born square instead of star shaped with 5 arms.
Fun-fact: Starfish don’t have a brain or blood and they can survive in the depth of the ocean.
