Transgender rights are human rights.

Trans rights are fundamental human rights that advocate for transgender people to be treated and protected equally. Despite recent advances, transgender people continue to face discrimination, violence, and barriers to accessing healthcare and other essential services. It is critical to continue advocating for the rights and dignity of all people, regardless of gender identity.

I understand that free speech is important, but is it more important for people to have basic human rights? I recognize that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but not if it interferes with someone’s way of life. However, when we look at what is happening in the world today, this is a beautiful thought in theory but not very practical. There are many people dealing with similar issues to the OP’s in this particular story, but we can only hope that things will improve. At least OP was able to achieve a minor victory in their life, which is sometimes all that is required.

Everyone should be allowed to dress how they want.

Sometimes, malicious compliance is the only way to force people to taste their own medicine.

OP is a trans man, but he is not yet open about it due to several reasons.

He is from Africa, and he had hoped that things would be different in America, but it wasn’t as he had hoped.

OP’s family is very strict as well, and thus he cannot be open about him being trans yet.

OP’s cousin recently graduated, and thus everyone in the family was going to celebrate together.

This meant that everyone was going to be dressed to the nines, and everyone wanted OP to wear a dress, which he isn’t a big fan of.

There wasn’t much that OP could do to refuse, and thus he was forced to wear a dress, which severely harmed his mental health.

OP’s graduation was coming soon as well, and he knew the same thing would happen this time, so he had a plan in mind.

OP was on a bodybuilding and weight-loss journey, which meant that he had sizable muscles by the time his graduation came around.

His family is very traditional, which means they wouldn’t be a big fans of masculine girls or feminine boys.

OP was ready for the inevitable dress shopping, and he chose the most tight-fitting ones to show off his muscles even more, which his family was disgusted by.

The family couldn’t say anything either, as everyone harped on OP about being overweight before, so they had to swallow their words now.

OP was eventually allowed to wear a suit, which he was much more comfortable in any way.

Things don’t end there, as OP will be moving out soon, so things are only going to get better from here on.

Even if you disagree with how someone was born, you have no right to hinder them. Allow them to live their lives and refrain from interfering with others. It’s really that simple. It’s funny how the family wasn’t happy either way. I mean, they asked for OP in a dress, and they got it. All of their subsequent complaints stem from having to deal with the taste of their own medicine. Given the OP’s circumstances, it may not appear to be a significant victory, but I hope their situation improves.

There are a lot of people on the side of the OP.

Even if you aren’t trans, what is wrong with a woman wearing a suit? I’d love to wear one.

I have noticed immigrants being more strict as well.

I am glad OP achieved what he set out to do.

OP will one day find a family that will support him.
