It all started when his friend’s dog got pregnant.

The friend wasn’t able to cancel the trip so OP offered to look after the dog.

This was clearly a stupid decision as he had no idea what he was getting into.

Now everything is going wrong and there is nothing he is able to do.

The dog and her puppies are clearly uncomfortable with everything despite his best intentions.

He really is trying his best to make things work.

To be fair, the puppies aren’t trained yet so obviously they’ll make a mess.

While there is a lot of advice that people can give him and helpful tidbits have already arrived, at the end of the day, he will still have to deal with the mess. While I believe that OP’s friend isn’t a bad person, I would not leave my cat with someone who has never had a cat and is unfamiliar with how to care for one.

I believe it was a careless mistake on both of their parts. OP clearly expected everything to be sunshine and rainbows, but that was far from the case. I can only hope the puppies continue to be healthy and the new mother gets some much-needed rest away from home.

People in the comments were quite sympathetic towards him.
