The disparity between rich and poor is staggering.

And it is becoming increasingly clear as time passes. The gap should not be this large in a healthy economic society, but it is in most countries. The rich continue to get richer, while the poor are essentially homeless at this point. Now, I don’t want to lump all wealthy people together, but the impact they have on society as a whole cannot be understated. Individuals expressing their dissatisfaction with the wealthy’s actions and lifestyles have become increasingly common in the age of social media. People are quick to point out how the wealthy few appear to have ruined certain aspects of life for everyone else, from soaring housing prices to gentrification of neighbourhoods.

The impact of wealth disparity can also be felt in the field of education. Many argue that the wealthy have better educational opportunities, which continues to perpetuate privilege and limits upward mobility for those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Furthermore, the concentration of wealth in specific industries and corporations can result in monopolies and limited competition, exacerbating income inequality for the majority. But that’s getting into the nitty gritty, and today we’re going to focus on what people with different points of view had to say about this issue.

Some, on the other hand, argue that it is up to individuals, regardless of their background, to seize available opportunities and strive for success. These are both valid points on their own, but in reality, it is rarely that simple, and in my opinion, it is a combination of both.
