Can women do woodworking? They sure can, without a doubt, and woodworking women are confident enough to let men know they can perform their tasks effortlessly without having to take help from someone of the opposite gender.
That is exactly what happened in the story we have got for you guys today. A young woman in the woodworking trade shared her encounter with a man who, let’s just say, didn’t quite trust her gender for the woodworking duties. OP shared that she took on a contract to replace balcony fence planks but faced condescending remarks and constant criticism from a customer who doubted her abilities because of her gender. Despite completing the job to a high standard, the customer belittled her efforts, leading to a heated exchange.
2. OP has a passion for woodworking, and after completing her studies, she began working as a full-time woodworker at her dad’s company.
3. This story is about an order OP received to replace some balcony fence planks.
4. When OP went to take the measurements, the customer didn’t like that the company had sent a female worker instead of a male.
5. The guy even said he doubted OP’s measurements. This is misogyny at its peak.
6. When OP started the physical work, he kept interrupting and poking, questioning her skills and quality of work.
I often have to take paracetamol when covering such stories. I hate misogynistic people. What is it that makes that man doubt OP wouldn’t be able to perform a task that is most often associated with men? This is beyond me. Honestly, OP should just complete his fence and then break it all down before leaving, that would teach him a lesson.
Pathetic behavior! OP should’ve just told him to go inside and do his thing instead of interrupting and annoying her.
