There are a hundred good reasons why adopting a pet will always be a better choice. These reasons are not only in the favor of pets but in your favor as well. Let’s picture it this way. You adopt a dog, instead of buying one from a pet store. What did you achieve? For starters, you just gave a neglected, probably abandoned pup another chance at life. Most of the dogs in animal shelters are there because either their previous owners were moving away, or simply decided they didn’t want them anymore. So, by adopting them, you’re changing their life.
On the other hand, if you shop them instead, you will only encourage breeders who treat dogs poorly just for the sake of making a profit. Most of the dogs that we see online or in pet stores come from Puppy Mills. Puppy Mills are large breeding facilities where they have little to no concern for the well-being of dogs. They just breed dogs over and over again only to make a few bucks. So, by buying dogs we will only encourage these cruel animal breeders.
For a better understanding, let’s learn from the personal experience of the following illustrator. Bird Born is a Moscow-based illustrator who is known for creating funny comics of human-like cats. But when he adopted a dog, it changed his life. He was so inspired that he turned his life-experience with an adoptive dog into a work of art.

Also, let’s not forget that dogs from animal shelters are house-trained as compared to ill-mannered dogs from pet stores. So, it’s really a win-win situation for you from every angle. Not to mention, adopting a dog will not cost you as much as buying one. The list of these benefits can go on forever. But for now, you should just keep one major thing in mind, that by adopting more you’re not only giving neglected dogs another chance, but you’re also saving them from being euthanized. You’re literally saving a life! What’s nobler than saving a precious innocent life? Think about it.
