Couple Installs Privacy Fence To Protect Their Large Dogs From Neighbor’s Children, Neighbors Calls Them Rude
When a fence went up between their homes, hopes of friendship with the new neighbors faded away for the Reddit user Aggressive_Oven_6265 and her husband, along with their two dogs. Living in their house for five years, they had grown accustomed to their space. However, the arrival of new neighbors, with two young children, changed the atmosphere. The kids, both under five, took to pestering the dogs whenever they ventured into the backyard. They’d dash out to the chain-link fence, banging on it and shouting at the dogs. The once peaceful backyard retreat became a source of anxiety for the dogs, who now hesitated to even go out.
Despite attempts to address the issue with the parents, who seemed unconcerned, the situation didn’t improve. Feeling their privacy invaded, the OP and her husband took action, applying for a permit to erect a new fence, marking the end of their patience with the intrusive neighbors.

1. Let’s find out!

2. OP and her husband have been living in a neighborhood with their two dogs, where everything went on smoothly up until the new neighbors moved in next door.

3. Every time the dogs would go out in the backyard to enjoy some time, the two kids of the new neighbors would rush out and start annoying the dogs.

4. They would start calling the dogs over and screaming at them, which would make the pups anxious.

5. The dogs would either run away to the other side of the yard or go back inside the house.

6. The new neighbors never addressed this matter.

7. OP has tried informing both the kids and their parents to avoid this, but they ignored it all.

8. After seeing no progress made for a year, OP and her husband decided to put up a larger privacy fence.

These neighbors are weird. Why don’t they tell their kids to just stop? Of course, the resolution to this matter could have been different had they just listened. But OP and her husband were being consistently ignored.
I think this is a good option to go for. The dogs need their privacy int heir house. And the neighbors are going to get a new free fence installed anyway so it is a win for them as well.

9. They were clear on all legal ends and finally went ahead with it.

10. OP and her husband didn’t find it important to tell their neighbors they had installed a new fence.

11. Mommy neighbor did not like it saying installing a larger fence was unfair to her kids.

12. She told OP that one of her boys has autism, and he isn’t allowed to have his own dog. This allowed him to get a feel of having a dog, but they ruined it.

13. OP told the mother they were left with no other option because they tried talking for a year and didn’t get any promising response.
