Guy Asks If He Is In The Wrong For Kicking Out His Late Wife’s Parents From His Wedding

Everyone deals with grief differently.

All of us lose loved ones in our life and that is just something that is a part of life. However, we usually hope that they only pass away when they are old and have lived their life to the fullest extent. It is always sad to see young people passing away and it can always shock the family members around if there wasn’t an illness. And no one deals with grief the same way. Some people seem to move on quickly even though they are dealing with their feelings internally.

While there are also other people who are not afraid to show their grief to the world. And you can’t really expect someone to be fine in a specified timeline. Some people may spend years not being able to process the pain while others may deal with it much more quickly. So it is no one’s right to judge other people on how quickly they may seem fine. However, in this particular story, there is more to it than just the passing of his late wife.

But he has found the love of his life.

His mother however doesn’t approve of their relationship.

She is clearly not over his late wife.

She even tried to ask him multiple times if she could invite his late wife’s parents.

Even though he clearly said no many times, she still came to the wedding with them.

As you can probably imagine, this didn’t go well for anyone.

It must be painful for the in-laws as well so I don’t think it would be a great idea.

But his mother didn’t respect his wishes at all.

She tried to reiterate that they were her family.

So he asked her to leave the reception.

And that is how he ended up on Reddit asking if he is in the wrong.

I do believe that he comes off as not caring for his late wife but we don’t know what their relationship was like. So it is good that he is moving and marrying the love of his life. Just because his wife passed away doesn’t mean that he always has to stay in that rut and never re-marry. It just seems like his mother is not over their relationship and is overstepping her boundaries. I can only hope that she gets therapy because she clearly needs some help.

I have to say that this is more complicated than it seems.

And I don’t know what the right thing to do would be in this situation.

But he hadn’t kept in touch with his in-laws.

So I don’t know why he would invite them to the wedding.

I mean it isn’t as if he had kids from the previous marriage.

The mother overstepped majorly and needs to apologize.

But the mother does seem to be in pain and she needs help.

The ex-in-laws did nothing wrong.

It seemed like people couldn’t really agree on everything.

And while a lot of people mentioned how he seemed a bit callous when speaking about his late wife.

Others talked about how he wasn’t in the wrong at all.

So Redditors decided on that he was not in the wrong but that he could try to be a bit more empathetic.
