I understand that everyone has hobbies and that it is acceptable to spend your own money on them, but does that mean you can berate other people in order to get what you want? I’ve also never understood people’s obsession with getting the latest iPhone. Don’t get me wrong, I know Apple makes good technology, but these days most other companies have the same specifications, so the ‘name brand’ shouldn’t matter as much, and yet here we are. I never expected to see someone so obsessed with phones that they were willing to damage their previous model in order to get their hands on the latest model.
Yes, I am well aware that for many people, technology is secondary, and they only want the newest thing to show off to others. But sometimes things don’t go as planned, and you have to grin and bear it. Karens, on the other hand, aren’t very good at it. They must always get what they want or they will throw a tantrum like a small child. That is precisely what is happening in this story. I wish I was joking, but things like this no longer surprise me. While this particular woman isn’t a customer but rather an employee, she’s still a Karen, especially given how she treated the IT team.
