Karen Claims She Was Sold Faulty Machine, Tech Support Puts Her Down

This is why you don’t lie to Tech support.

Many people have tried and failed while lying to Tech support. If you just want to get your money back on a piece of equipment that you yourself destroyed. There is every chance that they will figure it out. Especially if it is a computer. There is a thing known as a hard drive in a computer that stores everything. And well, we already know that we leave our traces wherever we go on the Internet or what we do.

So the moment you use even a little bit of know-how to ‘access’ that information you are bound to realize what really happened. So the best advice is to never lie to a person who works in Tech support. However, this woman tried to do just that to cover up for her perfect son. After all, how could her baby ever lie?

What she didn’t count on was the fact her son was pretty dumb by trying to delete files from the windows operating system. Everyone knows a computer can’t work without an OS.

Nobody likes parents who believe their children are angels.

I suppose you wished you had clocked out at the right time.

I would be pretty frustrated if this happened to me.

I wonder how old her son is.

I mean judging by where this story is going, it was definitely not you.

There is a difference between these two types of customers.

To be honest, I wouldn’t be able to live without my computer for one hour let alone a few days.

And this is when they realized her son must have done something.

I have to know what that ‘amazing charm’ is.

I am pretty sure already that she isn’t the one playing games.

I am betting on the fact her son wanted to play those games but couldn’t.

Or perhaps he wanted more space and decided to delete all the ‘unimportant’ files.

Honestly you can just roll it back to a restore point. All this talk of Damage and Screenshots and shit just escalated the issue.

Ma’am, it looks like some of the windows files were accidentally moved out of the folders where they belong but it’s not a big deal, we can just restore the computer to a previous configuration. It will take a little while so I suggest you leave it here and we will give you a call when it is done. In order to prevent this from happening again we should setup a limited account for your son so you dont have to deal with this again. –konoo

And this is where it all blew up.

It is pretty clear this wasn’t going to be as easy as they had hoped.

Trying to get more space for his games, but didn’t know his way around computers well enough to know what he was doing;
or trying to sabotage the computer to get a better one as the games didn’t run well on a laptop that probably wasn’t top of the line. –Mattsingen

Cool, well- either you can reimage your computer in the privacy of your own home and leave me alone, or you can pay me $200 to sit here and listen to you yell at me for something you/your kid did.

All in all, she huffed and fought but realized she couldn’t go anywhere.

The first thing you’re told is “the customer is always right”. If you wait it out though until you climb high enough in the business you can challenge the sassy ones and get away with it. Company policy always trumps a Karen’s logic. –ImperatorPeppino
