When the people you thought you had under your boot comply with the letter of your statements but not the spirit of them, saying something dismissive to try and illustrate your superiority is sure to backfire. If you’ve spent any time on this site or the well-liked Reddit sub that made these stories famous, you are all too aware that this is malicious compliance. If you’ve ever worked in a hostile environment with a domineering boss, you’ve probably seen one of these tales play out.
On the same-named topic of Reddit, user u/Aiku published their account of a hostile compliance behavior they saw. So keep on scrolling down below to know what happened here and make sure to read it until the end otherwise, you are not going to get the whole story here.

This was the most beautifully done revenge on a domineering boss I have ever seen. Some people specifically bosses are a pain in the ass and they won’t let you do anything according to you. Even when you know the outback of that result would be negative they would still not listen to you and insist you on doing what they are saying. These kinds of people are sick and all they care is about themselves only. They don’t have empathy toward others and they don’t even respect other people’s opinions.
So according to me, OP here did the best he could because it was going on repeat wherever he would stash the boxes he would repeatedly say stash is somewhere else. So one day OP got tired of his attitude and asks him where should I put all of these boxes. And he replies I don’t care where just get it out of here. It was the last day of OP working and he had a flight to catch so he came back with this brilliant idea and decided to stash all the boxes going straight into his office.
