Employee Reports A Pregnant Coworker To HR For Trying To Feed Him While He Is On Diet

A 24-year-old man shared his struggle with an overbearing colleague. OP, who had a history of illness and severe dietary restrictions, was working hard to gain weight with his doctor’s guidance. Despite his efforts and progress, a coworker named Peg had been persistently trying to feed him since returning from maternity leave.

Peg’s well-intentioned but unwelcome attempts included bringing in gluten-free steak sandwiches, leaving snacks on his desk, and pressuring him to accept her homemade meals. After numerous polite refusals and feeling increasingly uncomfortable, OP took the issue to their boss, who dismissed it as maternal concern. Frustrated and feeling cornered, the poster confronted Peg, leading to a heated exchange.

1. I have so many questions. Let’s find out!

2. OP is a short, extremely underweight guy.

3. He is working hard with his doctor to improve his health while following a strict diet plan.

4. One coworker, after returning from her maternity leave, got really worried for OP.

5. She brought cupcakes on her return and OP had to refuse as he was following a specific diet plan.

6. She then brought OP a steak sandwich. Again, he refused to which she said she would keep it aside for him to eat it later.

7. She didn’t stop and kept bringing different food items, and OP would just take those with him and give them to his boyfriend.

8. Things then moved to bagged snacks and last dinner’s leftovers. OP started feeling really uncomfortable at this point.

9. OP finally went to his boss and informed to him about his discomfort.

10. OP decided it was time to tell Peg how he felt. She said he should have told her first.

11. OP got loud and told her he didn’t want to share his medical history with her. She got pissed and left. The matter was taken to the courts of the AITA community.

NTA! Initially I thought why would anyone refuse free food. Then after OP shared his medical history, things got as clear as a glass. OP said no and that was enough for Peg to stop. She didn’t need to know why OP said no. Not many are comfortable sharing their medical history with everyone.

Peg should’ve been respectful. After being pushed continously and his boss doing nothing for him, OP was left with no option but to go to HR.

12. Despite saying no multiple times, Peg wouldn’t refuse to leave unless he would take the food.

13. Peg’s attempts to feed OP went on for over a month.

Here’s what the AITA community had to say about this:

Within the same week, OP shared an update. Here’s what he had to say:

19. HR said everything is settled but OP wanted a proper investigation conducted so that such behavior wouldn’t be reinforced in the future.

20. The decision divided the department into two.

21. Some supported OP while others literally developed a hate for him.

22. The boss called OP and Peg in a meeting and made them apologize to each other.

23. OP brought up Peg’s comments and somehow the whole situation got turned on its head with the boss saying OP hara*sed Peg.

24. The next meeting was even bad. The boss put it all on OP.

25. The boss said OP wasn’t a team player and would fail his career because of it.

26. Unsure about his future at the company, OP has started looking for new jobs.
