Bringing a baby to work is not a good idea.

While the idea of bringing your baby to work may appeal to parents who are struggling to balance their professional and parental responsibilities, it can have negative consequences for both the parent and the employer. Not only can a crying or fussy baby disrupt coworkers and productivity, but it can also be difficult for parents to focus on work tasks while caring for their children.

To maintain a professional work environment while also ensuring that both the parent and the baby receive the attention and care they require, alternative childcare options should be considered. Even if you only came to work for an hour to sort things out, you should be able to care for your child on your own and not pawn the kid off on your colleagues. However, that is exactly what the story’s original narrator did.

Working while taking care of a baby is not easy.

As you can tell by the title, OP intentionally put the intern’s future in jeopardy.

While OP is on paternity leave, he had to go to the office for some work concerns.

Since his wife was asleep, he decided to give her a break and take his baby to work.

When he got to the company, his co-workers were immediately enamoured with the adorable baby.

He gave his kid to the assistant, but he got worried once he couldn’t hear his baby.

Apparently, the assistant had given the baby to an intern, and this got OP even more worried.

The baby was apparently with Mary, and the intern wasn’t at her desk either.

As it turns out, the intern was in the bathroom changing the kid’s diaper.

OP wasn’t happy with her and told his boss about the whole situation and recommended that they not extend her job offer.

OP wasn’t sure whether he was in the right for tattling about her to the boss, so he came to Reddit, asking for advice.

I understand that OP was concerned about his child, and I sympathised with that, but it had nothing to do with OP mentioning the entire incident to the boss. Not only that, but OP should thank the intern for having the foresight to change the baby’s nappy, something not everyone does. I mean, I wouldn’t take the baby in the first place, but I would definitely not change the diaper. Putting the intern’s future in jeopardy is a terrible decision on the part of the OP. He appears to be taking advantage of his position, which gives him power over others.

The people in the comments were generally not on his side.

It was OP’s choice to give the baby off to someone else at work.

The intern was just trying to help.

Not many people would have changed a kid’s diaper unasked.

The OP really should have thanked the intern.

While it is true that the assistant was wrong.

However, OP was the one who pawned off his child to his assistant in the first place.

I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The intern should have ideally asked, but she was clearly trying to be helpful.

OP clearly took it too far.

What are your thoughts on how the OP handled the situation? Do you think he went too far and should’ve thanked the intern instead? Or do you believe the intern was abusing her authority? What would you have done if you were in her position? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
