To maintain a professional work environment while also ensuring that both the parent and the baby receive the attention and care they require, alternative childcare options should be considered. Even if you only came to work for an hour to sort things out, you should be able to care for your child on your own and not pawn the kid off on your colleagues. I understand that OP was concerned about his child, and I sympathised with that, but it had nothing to do with OP mentioning the entire incident to the boss. Not only that, but OP should thank the intern for having the foresight to change the baby’s nappy, something not everyone does. I mean, I wouldn’t take the baby in the first place, but I would definitely not change the diaper. Putting the intern’s future in jeopardy is a terrible decision on the part of the OP. He appears to be taking advantage of his position, which gives him power over others.
