Employee Joins Another Firm After Being Removed From Project, Company Crumbles And Loses Money

It’s often said that a person’s supervisor can either make or break their career path. A horrible and non-supportive supervisor can begin a chain of unfortunate events that can lead to the end of someone’s job or career. “People don’t leave jobs, they leave managers” is a saying that we’ve found to be extremely true. It’s also similar to what happened to a Reddit user who posted her story on the AITA subreddit. OP is a survivor for sure. She dealt with a hellish executive who removed her from a project to punish her and also hindered her success further. #1) OP’s boss pays for his mistake down the line.

#2) Last year OP was working as a junior project manager for a bully boss and put a lot of effort into it.

#3) The reports OP was working on were reviewed and came back negative. The VP blamed OP.

#4) OP explained that she was not involved in the process and referred to the original project manager.

#5) OP had been promised a new project which started in January but was withheld from her.

#6) They made another person the project manager who was not fit for that role at all.

#7) OP gets asked for advice by the new project manager and decides to help him. The VP found out and didn’t like that.

#8) The VP interrogated OP and said she needed everything in Word format not company software.

#9) OP’s VP told OP off and made one of the junior project managers take her place which had her fuming.

#10) OP reached out to her boss and HR to ease the tension with her VP but they were of no help.

#11) OP pushed her boss for a promotion after 6 months but he ignored her.

#12) OP’s boss talked down to leadership about OP at the company.

#13) After 6 months, OP got nasty emails from the VP. They were planning to get rid of OP.

#14) OP got another interview and gave her two week notice.

#15) OP started working at a new firm and found out that they were working on the same project she was removed from and it was going horribly.

#16) OP stayed away from that project to reduce the chances of bumping into people from her previous firm.

#17) OP became assigned to the project in her new firm as the previous one ruined the project.

#18) OP’s new firm is working very hard to clear the mess. OP is watching the previous firm burn.
