“No” always means “no,” no matter who says it. If someone looks uncomfortable with your flirting, it’s time to stop and think about your actions. Unfortunately, some people ignore these boundaries.
One dad found himself in such a situation. His wife’s tipsy friend started making advances toward his teenage son, and he felt compelled to step in. However, he wondered if he might have overreacted in handling the situation.
2. At a get-together at OP’s house, one of his wife’s friends crossed the line while complementing his 19-year-old.
3. When she told his son to take off his shirt, OP intervened by telling her off and calling her ugly.
4. Kathy got upset and started crying. OP’s wife got mad as well
5. OP tried to explain to his wife how the situation made their son feel uncomfortable, and he couldn’t let it happen.
I think OP’s wife should have shown full support for him. Her son’s comfort should be the top priority, just as it was for his father, who quickly intervened when he noticed his son wasn’t having a good time around that woman. OP should’ve grabbed the woman by her arm and thrown her out of the house.
