Baby showers can be very hectic.

Baby showers are a long-standing tradition for expectant parents to celebrate their child’s impending arrival. They are usually filled with games, gifts, and plenty of love from friends and family. It’s a special occasion to show your love and support for the expecting parents as they prepare for their new baby. However, the planning and execution of a baby shower can often be fraught with activity and stress for the hosts.

From guest coordination to decoration and game selection, there is a lot that goes into ensuring the event runs smoothly. This is why many expecting parents rely on their friends and family to help them plan their baby shower party. Having a support system to assist with logistics can make the process go much more smoothly and enjoyable for all parties involved. The hosts can make the baby shower memorable and stress-free by assigning tasks and responsibilities to loved ones. However, when it comes to event planning, drama is unavoidable. The same thing occurred in this particular story.

People change their minds all the time, and you don’t always need a reason for it.

OP has a friend of 20 years that she wanted to host a baby shower for, and it was supposed to happen very soon.

The invitations were already sent, but things became complicated when the subject of OP’s dogs came up.

OP’s friend didn’t want the dogs at the party, but OP was adamant that they would be fine and that they were well-behaved.

The friend explained that she doesn’t mind the dogs, but it wouldn’t be appropriate in a baby shower setting.

The friend insisted that OP at least lock her dogs in another room for the duration of the party, but OP refused and asked the friend to find another venue.

The friend called out the OP for being unwilling to compromise and also an a**hole for being stubborn, as it didn’t seem like a big deal to her.

The OP is now on Reddit because they feel like they might have been in the wrong.

While party planning can be hectic, it does not have to be drama-filled. However, there may be an additional step when it comes to pets. While many people love animals, this does not preclude them from being allergic to them. Not only that, but some pets may become aggressive towards strangers despite being extremely calm around you. So, I believe the original poster for this story is wrong. After all, it wouldn’t have been a big deal to keep the dog in another room for a little while. Even I do this when a friend who dislikes cats visits.

People in the comments had quite a lot of varying opinions on the whole situation.

A lot of people are afraid of or allergic to dogs.

This comment might seem harsh, but I have to somewhat agree.

I do like dogs, but I wouldn’t want them at a party either.

There is nothing wrong with people not obsessing over your dog.

It isn’t as if she would need to lock the dogs up for hours on end.

After all, we are talking about a friend of 20 years.

The OP should be a bit more understanding.

OP is trying to make it all about herself.

The dogs wouldn’t be the safest in that situation, either.

I have to agree that the OP is completely in the wrong here.

You should always consider the other person.
