Being kind is something not everyone is capable of. Trust me, doing a good deed takes a lot for us humans even though we need not think twice before doing such acts. One such act of kindness was done by Reddit user u/Dazzling_Care8896 but unfortunately, it was not valued by her side of the family.
OP shared her sister-in-law met a terrible car crash which left her with injuries that would take her months to recover. Also, she had only given birth 1 month ago so that was a major issue as well. OP decided to become her nephew’s primary mother until SIL fully recovered. Her husband and his side of the family became the baby’s full-time caregivers. A beautiful act of kindness, right?
But OP’s side of the family did not like this. Her parents didn’t like that their daughter was taking on too much responsibility. OP got to know about this when her sister invited her to her birthday party and OP brought her nephew along. Her family did not like that at all.

That is actually a very heartily thing done by OP’s husband and his side of the family. God bless them.

Disrespectful? What? OP is taking care of a baby that belongs to her sister-in-law who met a terrible car accident. It will probably take months for that woman to fully recover from the kind of injuries she sustained from that accident. OP and her husband should be extremely proud of themselves for what they are doing, they will definitely benefit in the future, in some way, by doing this great act of kindness. And look what her side of the family does. They treat her act of kindness like it is a waste of time…A terrible family if you ask me. OP was NTA!
