Art Teacher Puts Lock On The Office Door Because Husband Kept ‘Improving’ Her Work

There are bound to be misunderstandings in a relationship.

Even when you live with your parents and siblings, you fight or argue every other day over petty things. The thing that separates this behaviour from toxicity is the ability to fix it. If a family can communicate and change the things that are creating issues, know that the family is safe and healthy. But if the people in the relationship repeat this behaviour without facing any consequences, just know that it is going to go downhill from here. For a marriage to work, a couple needs to understand boundaries. You need to understand that every person has their own individual life that you can not mess with. When you interfere too much, it is bound to create problems.

The woman is a 33-year-old art teacher. She has a passion for art.

She recently started teaching a new class and shows her own paintings to them to demonstrate textures etc.

Her accountant husband rarely ever walks into her home office where she keeps her paintings.

Recently, he had been messing with her paintings claiming he was trying to make them look “better.”

He wanted to start his own artwork so her brushes started going missing too. But he messed up big time when he ruined a huge project of her’s by painting over it. So she put a lock in her office.

He is upset at her saying she is treating him like one of her students.

In my opinion, the guy really needs to understand boundaries. That is not his office and those are not his paintings. He can not mess with people’s work without their permission. If it were something that society considered more “professional” it would be a crime. The husband is completely wrong here.
