The best part about having a big family is that you can have big family gatherings and have a lot of fun. You can talk about anything without being judged but some relatives do not respect others’ opinions and they want everyone to agree with them. But that’s not how it works. You cannot turn everything into a heated debate every time. A Reddit user shared with the Reddit community that they have a big family and they decided to invite everyone for the Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone in the family works in different political spectrums. Every person respects the other person’s views except OP’s sister and her husband.
They would always want everyone to agree with them and they would think that the person disagreeing with them is wrong. They would always turn everything into a heated debate and it gets awkward for everyone else. To avoid this situation, OP set up a boundary that everyone coming to the Thanksgiving dinner would deposit $500 and the ones who would not talk about politics would get their money back but the ones talking about politics would not get their money back. OP’s sister didn’t like the idea and didn’t deposit the money. OP uninvited them. Scroll down for the complete story.
