Person Argues With Neighbor Over Her Dog Coming In Their Yard And Eating The Food

Being a dog owner, you must be responsible for it. You must not allow it to wander around in the neighborhood all by itself, especially when there are laws that don’t allow dogs in public without a leash on. It could be dangerous for people and for the dog as well, it may meet an accident, or get kidnapped. On the other hand, it may get aggressive and bite someone, or enter another neighbor’s house. So, as a pet owner, you have to make sure none of this happens and if any such thing does happen, the owner is to be held responsible. Always!

Today we have a story for you on a similar topic coming straight from the infamous subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?“. A new family moved into OP’s neighborhood and they had a dog who started entering OP’s house. It would go into their yard and would eat all the seeds OP would’ve put out for wild animals to eat. This kept happening and OP reported the matter to their neighbor but no action was taken. Soon the neighbor got a new puppy and it would too start coming to OP’s house to eat. OP would feed the dogs some dog treats as well but on their own, they would eat the seeds. One day the neighbor decided to enter OP’s house to get her puppy and entered in without knocking or any alerts to tell OP to stop feeding her dogs whatever they are feeding them. This resulted in both neighbors arguing.

OP got a bit confused so the fate was left upon the AITA community members to decide if they were an AH or NTA. Scroll down below to read how it all went down.

1. New neighbors shifted in the community OP lives in and they planned to become friendly with the new family.

2. The neighbor’s dog would often come to OP’s house and eat seeds, that they had put there for other animals to eat, in their yard. OP did let the neighbor know about this.

3. The neighbors got a new puppy and it too started coming over to OP’s house. OP told the neighbors about the situation again but no action got taken.

4. One day the puppy was in OP’s house and the neighbor decided to enter their house without knocking or anything to grab the puppy. The neighbor also told OP to stop feeding the dogs.

5. The two neighbors get into a proper argument. OP asks the AITA community members if they were wrong for responding to the neighbor.

6. It started off with the dogs eating seeds from OP’s yard and eventually when the dogs would keep coming, they would be fed dog treats.

OP was NTA. My guy was actually giving dog treats to the dogs. And kept informing the neighbor about her dogs entering their yard time and time again. There was no action taken so OP instantly got in the clear. And I cannot believe the audacity of that woman for entering OP’s property without knocking on the door or anything. That is considered trespassing and she could’ve been jailed for that.

OP must report the neighbor for not following the leash law. That would certainly make her reconsider a lot of life choices.

Here’s what the AITA community members had to say and why:

7. OP was more than accommodating in this situation.

8. That is very correct, sire.

9. Report the neighbor for not following leash laws. That will teach her a lesson.

10. A person who cannot keep their own dogs in their house should not own dogs.

11. If it happens next time, she is getting reported.

12. The neighbor was lucky OP was polite.

13. This pet owner is very irresponsible.

14. As easy as that.
