Everyone is afraid of something.

Whether that be the dark or an animal. And it is completely fine. After all, humans are not supposed to be fearless. We have this natural instinct that tells us when we need to run away because something is wrong. However, sometimes this instinct goes haywire and we end up fearing adorable animals that would never hurt us. Fear can be irrational and no matter how much we tell ourselves this, it is not so easy to overcome.

That is why it is so heartwarming to see these people overcoming what they feared and actually ending up loving the animals that had scared them before. I myself am scared of dogs even though I find them adorable from afar. I have never ever petted a dog but would love to overcome this one day. And the following stories give me hope.

#1 I am glad he got to do what he loves.

I can relate to this so much. I’d love to learn to ride but always get scared when I take a look at the big horses. While I have ridden a few times, I was scared sh*tless the moment I sat on a horse so everything takes time.

#2 This friend was just looking out for his pal.

Okay, this interaction is giving me diabetes.

Sometimes you have to face your fears head-on.

My advice is: go to one of the animal shelters around you and talk to them saying that you are afraid of dogs. Then, they might offer for you to walk the nicest dog with someone else and you will see that dogs are great!

If you do that a few times, you may feel strong and confident enough to walk a dog on your own and the more you do that, the better you will feel about having dogs around.

Also, try to read and watch as much as possible about body language of dogs and learn how not only to understand, but also react to their behavior. Hope that helps a bit…I did it the same way and it worked wonderfully. –Germandexter

#3 Cats are adorable but they can scratch the heck out of you so I understand this guys fear.

Oh, no I don’t like where this is going.

Maybe I spoke too soon because this is going better than I imagined it would go.

All’s well that ends well.

#4 Always read the signs before you do anything.

Honestly, I am so glad that he understood his mistake.
