Mother Flips Out On A Rude Teacher After She Gives Her Daughter 137 Assignments

Teaching is an exceptionally hard job.

Not only do they not get paid enough but they also have to deal with entitled parents who think their precious snowflake children should get special treatment. However, that does not mean every parent who gets angry at a teacher is in the wrong. And it also does not give teachers free rein to be rude towards students who just need some help.

I knew many teachers who were dismissive towards students when I was in school and they would only get pissed off if you asked a question. It is sad to see that this is still happening even when kids have to study from home. So I am not at all condoning what this teacher did. It might not seem like such a big deal when you get to it but it represents a way of thinking.

I know it doesn’t sound that bad but just read the whole story.

What we have established here that this is a very young child.

Now I don’t know about you but 137 assignments sound like a lot.

And any student would justifiably get fed up with all the work they have to do in such little time.

Keep in mind that this is an 8-year-old child, not a teenager or an adult.

I get that the teacher might have had a bad day and that it slipped out.

However, that does not excuse her behavior. And she only got embarrassed because her mother caught it.

NTA NTA NTA You’re not being a Karen. 137 assignments all due the same day is ridiculous. The whole point of assignments is to assist in a student’s education. If a parent has to do assignments for their kid because they’re so many, there’s literally no reason to do assignments. 8yo’s shouldn’t have much homework, anyway. –QuixoticLogophile

And things just keep getting worse for the poor child.

You would think that it wouldn’t matter but it apparently does.

So, at the very beginning of the school year, her teacher made it clear to us that all incomplete assignments take 120 points off of her final grade. If my daughter does not finish these assignments by 4 pm this evening (she still has 46 to do) she will be held back. All due to the negligence of the school system. –anon291throw

She probably is overwhelmed but that is exactly the reason why she should be understanding.

Same time frame. All of the students in her class had a week to do all of those assignments. –anon291throw

I am never going to argue that retail workers don’t get the brunt of customers’ rudeness.

She would definitely not have said anything if a parent hadn’t intervened.

The school should really space the assignment out more.

The school sucks at handling anything! Which is odd considering the amount of money all parents fork over for tuition. –anon291throw
