It is one of the hardest languages in the world to learn. While many people know English around the world because we learn it throughout our childhood, the same isn’t true for Japanese. And really learning to speak a new language with proper grammar and all isn’t as easy as it looks.

While being confident in your abilities is a good thing, you should never stray so far that you turn into being stupid. That is what this guy did. Apparently he thought he spoke Japanese better than native Japanese speakers. Now, I am not saying a native speaker of a specific language can’t make grammar mistakes but that doesn’t ‘usually’ happen. It is like second nature almost.

I couldn’t imagine being that arrogant as to try and correct someone’s native language. –TwoGryllsOneCup

I’ve seen weebs try to correct my friend on his Japanese and explain to him what Japanese cuisine is really like. His family owns a traditional-style Japanese restaurant. He lived in Japan from ages 5-15. It hurt to watch that unfold.
I saw a white guy try to score “brownie points” with my Chinese friend by spitting out pro-CCP talking points and trashing Hong Kong, along with speaking broken Mandarin. My friend is Cantonese and was born in HK. The guy assumed she was born in the mainland. That didn’t go over well. –R0BL0XIAN
