When you become a parent it takes more than sleepless nights and changing diapers to get the job done. When you become a parent you automatically sign up for mentoring your kids. You are solely resposible for making sure your child understands what’s right and what’s wrong.
Yes, kids learn a great deal when they go to school, but if parents aren’t involved in the process of teaching their children, it becomes difficult. Now, all of these things are more or less common, but what would you do if there was an emotional barrier between you and the kids? What if your kids never truly accepted you? Well, that would just make things very difficult.
While this might not be usual in the case of birthparents, it definitely happens with stepparents. When kids see that their mother or father are being replaced by another person, it gets hard for them to adapt to this change. It’s understandable and to some extent normal.

Kids are easy to convince. They’ll believe and understand whatever you tell them. So, in a way it becomes the responsiblity of the biologicalparent to teach them to respect their stepparent. If the actual parent won’t play their part here, kids will never love or accept stepparents. And this will affect a lot of relationships.
It’s true that we cannot force kids to love their stepparents, but at least we can teach them to respect them. If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. These are manners that someone in charge must teach their kids. Otherwise, no one would be able to live in peace.
