A relationship shouldn’t mean you cease to be independent.

And yet this is exactly what so many people think it is. Just because you have a partner doesn’t mean you should put all your work on them and expect them to stay with you for longer than a few months. These sorts o one-sided relationships never work well. Both parties have to put in work to make it work.

So if you are old enough to be in a long term relationship, you are certainly old enough to act like an adult. While it is true that everyone makes mistakes once in a while and that doesn’t make us childish but you have to own up to them. Not put the blame on others. That is the biggest red flag of someone still not getting how life works.

I knew that simple fact when I was 10 years old and I didn’t even have a passport then.

I mean she should have checked it months before settling on a vacation date.

Honestly, this is no one’s fault but hers. She should have known and even if she didn’t, she should have checked with her boyfriend. She can’t just blame him since she ‘doesn’t know this sort of stuff.’ No matter how much she may act like a kid she isn’t one.

However, why the guy hasn’t left her yet is very hard to understand for me.

It might be too late by then.

I would do the same in this situation.

I mean most partners wouldn’t be happy with that but if you aren’t in the wrong here why waste the opportunity?

Most kids put their mother on a high pedestal. And that is understandable.

No partner would ever be comparable to his mother and nobody should have to compete either.

Which is clearly lacking.

It’s not the olden days. The internet can solve most problems through the click of a button.

It wasn’t like he abandoned her at the top of a hill as this guy did.

They need to either work things out or go their separate ways. This isn’t good for either of them.

It isn’t as small as not putting the toilet seat down. You will regret staying with her later in life.
